OUR STORY

Hands Of Nomad is located in the small town of Lunawada, District Mahisagar, Gujarat. My mother, Garima Mehta, and I, Kavya Mehta, started this brand to tell stories — because we believe stories can be expressed through art and craft too.

I am a fashion designer, and during my internship at Women Weave, Maheshwar, located on the banks of the Narmada River (Reva), I realized that while we often see fashion as a glamorous industry, we rarely notice the invisible hands and hard work of artisans who make it beautiful. That experience changed everything for me, and then I decided I wanted to work with artisans.

That’s how the soul of HANDS OF NOMAD was born. But this brand has been nurtured by my family. My parents, Garima Mehta and Saurabh Mehta (fondly known as Cyclist Uday Cycle), are the backbone of Hands Of Nomad. They have given me courage and strength. This brand would not have been possible without the constant support of my brother, Granth.

I’ve always loved listening to stories, and during the lockdown, I became a movie lover. I watched many films, but I was especially mesmerized by the storytelling of Kishore Kumar and Hrishikesh Mukherjee. That’s when I knew I wanted to become a textile storyteller.

Through Hands Of Nomad, I create products that narrate their own stories — pieces that speak for themselves and require no explanation.
